Evidently, from the pictures and videos, these are drinks that seem to cling to the cup and hold their shape, even when they’re tilted.
There is a whole line of these, as the cafe calls them, inverted or upside down beverages, from the regular cafe teas and coffees to bubble tea.
Basically, they’re unpourable, unspillable…

What was going through your mind when you saw those videos?
From the way the contents of the cup moved (as it inched its way to the rim), I suspected gelatin’s involvement.
Then I was intrigued by how they still managed to maintain this beverage’s status as a beverage, aka a liquid when you’re not trying to pour it on the table/ the floor/ your friends/ yourself. It was clearly non-Newtonian but in such an unconventional way.
If that was also your thought process, you may be a little disappointed to know this is no scientific miracle because this isn’t a drink at all.
It’s pudding. Pudding made to look like drinks just to deceive you and all your gullible Instagram followers.
But, hey, it’s still edible. So food for your IG-story, then your tummy. But that’s not all.
