If there’s anything anyone can agree on, it’s that scalpers are the worst-

And the point has been proven yet again as listings of the highly-anticipated Omega X Swatch BIOCERAMIC watches have already started to appear for prices as high as SGD $2,000 on selling platform, Carousell.

For reference, the Omega X Swatch BIOCERAMIC watches are priced at SGD $372 in retail stores.

The watches have since been out of stock nationwide at all Swatch outlets after watch enthusiasts have cleared them out over the weekend. Many were also keen to own this product as it was dubbed as an entry to owning an Omega Speedy, a must-have item according to a Straits Times report.

However, an Omega Speedy is priced from SGD $9,000 onwards. Hence why everyone chiong-ed to get their hands on it which resulted in this scene at ION:

‘$0’ Carousell Listings Posted to Fight Scalpers

However, not all heroes wear capes-

In this case, fellow Carousell users have listed $0 or ‘FREE’ product listings of the now out-of-stock Omega X Swatch BIOCERAMIC watches to warn others not to fall for the ploy of scalpers out there.

Within their product descriptions, these users band together to inform buyers that the Omega X Swatch BIOCERAMIC watches are not limited edition and will be restocked soon.

To back their claims, some have even attached screencaps from the official Swatch Facebook page informing their customers that “there will be more opportunities to purchase” the watches in the coming weeks:

Many have also voiced out about how Swatch could have managed the launch sales better and proposed that the watches should be available for online purchase via a pre-order basis to ensure a fair system for their customers.

A reasonable reaction given that this was the queueing situation at ION Orchard when the collaboration launched on 26 March:

Other outlets were not spared either as the one located at Marina Bay Sands had to handle a, well, more passionate crowd (that’s the nice way of saying it), when they realised the watches were out of stock:

Major yikes and patience for those who had to handle these enthusiasts.

And fingers crossed, they too will be able to get their watches during the next round of restocks by Swatch.
