One of the most popular teas at CATEA is their Yashi Duckshit DanCong, and no, you didn’t see it wrongly – duckshit really is part of the tea’s name.

The Yashi Duckshit DanCong tea comes in an oriental, cat-themed teapot and cup which is both traditional and cute, if that’s even possible.

As an oolong tea, the Yashi Duckshit DanCong is part of the Fenghuang Dancong tea family, produced in Chaozhou, Guangdong.

Its name is related to the soil where it grows, locally known as “duck shit soil”.

According to CATEA, tea farmers intentionally gave it the name “Duck Shit Fragrance” to keep it a secret and prevent others from stealing.

So now you know.

Apart from fluffy cats and premium Chinese teas, there’s also a section in the teahouse selling adorable cat-themed merchandise and trinkets.

Kawaii? More like Cat-waii.

Do note that dining time at CATEA is limited to 1 to 2 hours and only children 7 and above are allowed entry into the teahouse.

Children under the age of 14 will also need to be accompanied by an adult.

Walk-ins are allowed but the cafe highly recommends making a prior reservation as the teahouse capacity is limited and there may be long waiting times.

Reservations can be made by PM-ing CATEA on Instagram with your preferred time, pax and phone number.

Weekend reservations should also be made at least 2 to 3 days beforehand.

If you’re a fellow cat and tea lover, you’ll definitely want to check CATEA out for their extensive tea selections and enjoy the cozy, feline-filled atmosphere at the cafe.

Don’t say we bojio.
