Jurassic Mile might’ve just opened just recently but it has already reaped its first casualty in the form of a golf ball accident.

Then, the management of the park connector and the country club just beside the track promised to do something about it…fast.

Turns out, this innocent foreign domestic worker isn’t alone.

Chen Tianwen’s Son Nearly Hit By Golf Ball Too, But It’s Confirmed It Happened Before Netting Was Installed

Chen Tianwen might be known to some as Mr “Unbelievable”.

On 2 Nov, the actor shared the unbelievable incident that almost happened to his son when they visited Jurassic Mile:

According to his post, he and his wife brought their 5-year-old son to the trail the day before.

They were having plenty of fun posing with the dinosaur exhibits in the background.

Suddenly, a golf ball which flew “silently” from the golf course nearby hit hard against the external perimeter of the airport wall.

His son, scared, immediately crouched down with his arms covering his head.

The ball bounced off the wall and landed 1.5-metre away from his son.

A family nearby also suffered a scare from the incident.

This reportedly happened near the Brontosaurus exhibit and the near-accident happened despite the additional netting.

Thankfully, no one was injured but the Chen hopes that the relevant authorities will take the necessary measures to make the trail as safe as possible.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) Response

According to MS News, a CAG spokesperson said that an overhead netting has been installed at the Jurassic Mile.

The overhead netting (not to be confused with the vertical netting) was installed on 3 Nov 2020, two days after Chen’s close encounter with stray golf balls.

The implementation is part of the planned safety enhancements to the trail, the spokesperson added.

Previously, a foreign domestic helper was walking along the Jurassic Mile with her employer’s family when she was struck down by a stray golf ball.

Luckily, there was a Certis Cisco staff on-site who managed to get her assistance fast.

It was made known that safety concerns were brought up but put to the side when constructing the trail.

When the previous incident happened, safety nettings were also quickly put up.
