Who doesn’t love to watch himself star in his own movie? I know I would! Chow Yun-fat, who recently starred in The Cold War 2, a sequel to a 2012 blockbuster, was seen on a date with his Wife, buying tickets to catch his own show.

Well, I wouldn’t blame him.

chow_yun_fat_movies2 Seeing your face on the big screen is a whole different experience that watching yourself behind the small computer screen you have back home. You know what they say – the bigger, the better.

chow_yun_fat_movies4 Not surprisingly, fans caught sight of Chow and went absolutely insane. Being a gracious person, Chow was more than happy to sign a few autographs and take photos with his fans.

Even if he’s out running errands, Chow would always stop to pose for a picture with his fans, which is probably why he has a whole load of loyal followers.

A heart of gold and a hip attitude

chow_yun_fat_movies3 Known for being humble and a role model for being frugal, Chow announced back in 2014 that after his passing, he would donate his entire $1 billion HKD ($164 million USD) fortune to charity. He finds joy in living simply instead of indulging in luxurious items. He is often seen on the subway instead of zooming off in the slickest new car.

When asked, he said, “Ninety percent of the people on the subway would be staring down at their phones. Who would even notice me? It’s like stepping into an abandoned land!”

Chow is not only financially successful but also has a heart of gold. And he attributes all his values to his mother, for teaching him the right how to save and to always know your roots.

For someone who had zero clues of his existence an hour ago, I would say I am pretty darn impressed by him.
