Circles.Life is one name that most, if not all, Singaporeans have heard of.
After all, they’re known for their brash, unconventional marketing gimmicks that never fails to get the attention of the public.
Or the police.
Like the $50 Vending Machine
Last year February, a mysterious vending machine suddenly appeared in the central area of Singapore.
“Slot” $3 into the machine and you’ll get back $50 together with a brochure with a QR code.
Thousands of people flooded the area and the Singapore Police Force had to crash the party because it was getting too dangerous.
In the end, it was revealed to be a publicity stunt by Circles.Life to promote their $3/day unlimited data plan.
So yes, I think we can all safely agree that Circles.Life is king when it comes to creating publicity stunts.
Circles.Life 20GB Plan Suddenly Discontinued
If you have no idea what Circles.Life 20GB data plan is all about, here’s an article we’ve written that’ll tell you everything you need to know about the amazing plan. I mean, it’s $1 per GB of data. That’s not just affordable, it’s cheap.
But on 13 Feb, Circles.Life suddenly announced that they’re going to stop their $20 for 20GB data plan.
Both in a Facebook post.
And an email.
Cue Uproar
Due to the suddenness of the announcement, coupled with many porting over to Circles.Life specifically for the heavy-duty data plan, existing subscribers erupted almost immediately.
But there are some die-hard fans of Circles.Life believed that the telco wouldn’t do this if they didn’t have something better in mind.
And guess what? They were right.
Sorry, No More $20 For 20GB, Circles.Life Now Starting $20 For Unlimited Data Plan
While the rest of Singapore was having heart attacks, news portal, MustShareNews, managed to dig deeper and discovered something even more interesting.
Something so interesting it’ll soothe the pain of the sudden announcement.
First, they realised that the base plans of Circles.Life has changed.
Previously, users pay $26 for a monthly data bundle of 6GB. Now? The base plan costs $28 and gives users a monthly data bundle of 20GB.
Ohh, a silent upgrade.
Love streaming videos so much on the go that 20GB isn’t enough for you? You can choose to add on $20 for unlimited data.
Yes. You guessed it right.
They’re not offering 20GB for $20 anymore. Because they’ll be giving you unlimited data for the same amount of price.
The news portal said that they’ve verified the information with Circles.Life customer service and it was made known that there is such a plan in the works.
It was added that the data will be at 4G speeds.
So, yes, it’s just Circles.Life doing marketing their own way. But like one person said:
Agreed.
