Class 95 The Muttons Bought Over Popular Thai Eatery at Orchard Road
On Saturday (4 June), Class 95’s deejay dynamic duo, the Muttons, consisting of Justin Ang and Vernon A, shared on their Instagram account that they had bought a Thai eatery at Orchard Road.
Some of you may have heard of this eatery which has been around since 1999—Korat Thai Cafe.

In the caption, the pair shared that the eatery offers “the best Thai food” in Singapore, and as such, they hope to continue its legacy and do it proud.
We wonder if they sell “muttons in the morning”.
New Dishes Introduced By The Muttons into the Eatery’s Menu
While Class 95 The Muttons may be busy hosting their morning radio show, this doesn’t mean they haven’t put in the work at Korat Thai Cafe yet.
The partners-in-crime have already introduced a few new dishes, which they’ve shared some of on Instagram.
If you’re craving some wholesome hotpot on a rainy day, why not head down to the eatery to try the new Mama Tom Yum Ultra Pot?
Other new dishes include the Volcano Pork Spine and Khao Soi, which look equally mouth-watering.
Perhaps you’re a long-time fan of the Thai eatery’s green curry. If you’re scared that the green curry will start tasting like mutton, fret not—the signature taste of the restaurant’s dishes will still be just as good even after The Muttons’ takeover.

Apparently, the full recipes for all dishes were passed down from the original owners to the new owners, and the original chef will also continue working in the eatery.

Class 95 The Muttons had the opportunity to buy the Thai Eatery because the original owners were searching for a new owner to succeed them as they were looking to retire and move to Thailand.

This search for a new owner started in June last year when the restaurant shared a Facebook post announcing they were looking for successors.
We’re glad they were succeeded by a duo who takes their food seriously.
Not Class 95 The Muttons’ First Foray Into the Food Business
How do you tell if someone cares about their food?
Well, someone who cares about their food puts cereal before milk (we’re kidding). Regardless, perhaps a tell-tale sign that one is serious about their food is when they own a food business.
The Muttons? Aside from their newest Thai eatery cop, Class 95 The Muttons already owns two other food businesses, both with cheeky names—the Japanese restaurant Itchy Bun and roast meat joint Fook Kin.

Itchy Bun, a play on the word “Ichiban”, sells affordable rice bowls, small bites like Mentaiko Fries, and of course, some buns. Itchy buns.

On the other hand, Fook Kin brings to the table Singaporeans’ favourites—char siew, roast pork, and other zichar dishes.
