If you’ve watched PM Lee’s video earlier today, you’d know that the number of cases isn’t going to go down that fast despite us abiding by the Circuit Breaker measures.
It might take about 11 days before we see any results.
And today, another 198 new cases were reported with 1 more death.
Here’s today’s announcement.

One More Death Reported
Unfortunately, today, one more death that’s caused by COVID-19 has been reported.
She’s an 86-year-old Singaporean who passed away tonight (10 April) due to COVID-19 complications. She was part of the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home cluster and was admitted to NCID on 1 April 2020. This means we now have 7 deaths due to COVID-19, and 1 death unrelated to COVID-19 though he was tested positive for the virus.
Patients in the Public Healthcare Sector
There are also 3 new patients who work in the public healthcare sector.
2 of them are Singapore doctors in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and 1 of them is a Patient Service Associate in Hougang Polyclinic.
Swabs Tests Number
If you follow the US situation closely, you’d know that Donald Trump likes to talk about the number of tests made.
MOH is now also updating us on the number of tests made in Singapore.
As of 7 April 2020, the total tests made were 72,680, with total unique persons swabbed at 47,486. The total swabs per 1 million people are therefore 12,800.
Updates on Confirmed Cases
As of now, the total number of cases we have in Singapore is 2,108.
492 of them fully recovered and have since been discharged. 32 are now in ICU. And as mentioned earlier, 7 have passed away due to complications caused by COVID-19, and 1 passed away that’s not caused by COVOD-19.
The conditions of the remaining patients are either stable or improving. Of this group, 734 of them who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities.
As of noon today, MOH has identified 22,674 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 7,723 are currently quarantined, and 14,951 have completed their quarantine.
You can do your part as a responsible citizen through helping out in contact tracing by downloading the TraceTogether app.
