COVID-19 Updates Singapore (26 Feb): 2 New Cases With No Links to Any Confirmed Cases Yet

There are two new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Singapore today, and both allegedly had no links with any previously confirmed cases…yet.

But by now, you shouldn’t be worried.

For a start, MOH is using some high-tech thingy that can determine when a person’s infected, and that helps to establish cases with no known links. And secondly, MOH is even investigating the movements of confirmed cases without taking their words at face value, and managed to catch two people lying about their movements, so you can bet they can trace the link soon.

Or maybe by then, DORSCON would have dropped back to yellow and COVID-19 is just another H1N1. Who knows.

But anyways, here are the details for today’s cases.

2 New COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today (26 Feb); Both With No Links With Other Cases Yet

Two new cases were confirmed today.

The first patient is a 47-year-old Singaporean who does not have any recent travel history to China. He is now isolated in Sengkang General Hospital and was tested positive this morning.

The second patient is a 38-year-old Singaporean who was also tested positive this morning. He is isolated in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

None of them has any link to any confirmed cases…yet. Contact tracing is under way to establish if the pair have any links to previous cases.

This brings the total case to 93 in Singapore.

Updates on Current Cases

At this moment, 62 out of the 93 confirmed cases have fully recovered and are discharged. 7 of them are in ICU.

This means there are now only 24 patients who are in isolation wards, and their conditions are either stable or improving.

As of noon today, MOH has identified 2,848 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 259 are currently quarantined, and 2,589 have completed their quarantine.
