Like what PM Lee said yesterday, the number of new cases has been more than 50 daily, and today’s no exception.
After all, we’ve yet to put circuit breakers into our circuit breaker box.
And just as expected, local transmissions take up the majority of the cases with 4 new clusters.
Here’s today’s announcement.
75 New COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today (4 Apr): 69 Local Cases with 4 New Clusters
Out of the 75 new cases, only 6 are imported, which means there are a staggering 69 local cases.
29 of them are still unlinked and contact tracing is still ongoing.
40 local cases are linked to previously confirmed cases or clusters.
And if you still don’t believe that adding CB measures would help, this should convince you: four new clusters were found.
In other words, it’s easy for people to get infected when they’re together.
4 New Clusters Found: 3 Dormitories & a Ballroom
Lest you’re not aware, the authorities are looking at dormitories given that before today’s discovery, there have been a few clusters in dormitories and construction sites.
Today, 3 new dormitory clusters were found:
- Sungei Tengah Lodge at Old Choa Chu Kang Road which now has 3 cases
- To Guan Dormitory at Toh Guan Road East which has now 5 cases (do note that this is different from the Westlite Toh Guan dormitory cluster)
- Cochrane Lodge II at Admiralty Road West which now has 4 cases
In addition, MOH also linked a new case to 3 previously confirmed cases and discovered a cluster at The Orange Ballroom at Geylang Road, a place catered for events like weddings or D&Ds.
Here’s why we should CB, right?
