On 26 Jun (Friday), 219 new Covid-19 cases were reported.
The number includes 6 cases in the community: 5 Singaporeans and 1 work pass holder.
And, well, one thing that the authorities hoped wouldn’t happen, has happened.
A New COVID-19 Case Has Met a Large Group for Sport & Social Activities; MOH Investigating
On 27 Jun, it was reported that one of the community cases had met up with a large group for sports and social activity.
While not much is revealed about the case, the Ministry of Health (MOH) did say that it is investigating the incident.
I guess we’re might hear about a repeat of Robertson Quay soon.
“We advise the public to abide by the spirit of the rule to limit social gatherings to not more than five persons.”
Spirit Of The Rule
If you’re wondering what “spirit of the rule” means, it basically means that you understand what the law is trying to do and follow through.
For example:
Law: You can only gather in a group with a maximum of 5 people during Phase Two.
I’m not meeting with 9 other friends. We are two groups of five.
It’s like only studying when your parents are watching, and watching Netflix the moment they’re in the living room.
It doesn’t work.
Here’s to hoping that this man won’t become the South Korea clubber of Singapore.

Why?
Because of scenes like this:

They are concerned about the fact that people here in Singapore have forgotten about how dangerously infectious Covid-19 actually is.
If people were to continue mingling like no tomorrow, they say, there’s a chance that social restrictions might be slammed back into place.
That’s chim talk for: Let’s stay home and not meet our girlfriend or boyfriend for the next two months.
And I’m pretty sure none of us wants that.
