87 New Covid-19 Cases Reported Today (11 Sep); No Cases In The Community

Well, the figures could’ve gone lower but, hey, at least there’s good news when it comes to community cases.

As of 12pm on 11 Sep 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) preliminarily reported 87 new Covid-19 cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases here in Singapore to 57,316.

Based on investigations so far, there are zero cases in the community, a rarity these days.

There are also 14 imported cases, all of whom were placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore.

Case Details For 10 Sep 2020

On 10 Sep 2020, 2 community cases were reported.

One is a work pass holder, a Chinese National who has not yet been linked to any previous cases or clusters.

He was tested positive during the routine rostered testing (RRT) every worker living in dormitories, as well as those working in the construction, marine and processing sectors, have to undergo.

The other is a 36-year-old Singaporean man.

He is linked to three other imported cases who had travelled back to Singapore from India on 24 Aug 2020.

Now, while he himself has not travelled to India, he had requested to take care of his spouse and two young children at the facility with them.

He has been in isolation since 24 Aug and was tested positive during his stay there.

Six Imported Cases

On 10 Sep 2020, six imported cases were reported.

One of them is a Singaporean who returned to Singapore from the United Arab Emirates on 29 Aug 2020.

Four of them are work pass holders who are currently employed in Singapore.

One came from Bangladesh on 31 Aug, two from Indonesia on 29 Aug and the remaining one from Russia, also on 29 Aug.

The remaining imported case is a student’s pass holder who came to Singapore from the Philippines on 27 Aug.

Two New Dorm Clusters Detected

The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported two new clusters at already-cleared dormitories.

The first is Avery Lodge Dormitory in Jalan Papan in the Jurong area, linked to 35 Covid-19 patients.

The second is PPT Lodge 1A in Seletar North Link, linked to 8 cases.

Of the 55 cases for migrant workers living in dormitories, 26 belonged to the new Avery Lodge Dormitory cluster.

Basically, it’s not because our Covid-19 tests are inaccurate; it’s because Covid-19 is just a tricky, nasty bugger that wouldn’t die out.

Restaurant In Geylang Visited By Covid-19 Case

MOH has added one new location to their list of places visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

It’s Yaleju-Tong Bei Huo Guo Pte Ltd, a restaurant located at 149 Geylang road.

The visit took place between 10am and 12.05pm on 30 Aug.

Again, you don’t have to cancel your plans simply because the place is visited by Covid-19 cases.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) would’ve gotten in touch with the operator of the place and do a thorough cleaning of the area.

In fact, it might just be cleaner than 90% of our rooms.

Close contacts have been identified, MOH said, and those who have been in the area during the same timeframe should monitor your health for the next 14 days.
