Today’s the eve of Christmas Eve, and while many countries are on lockdown due to COVID-19 (you can read the concise list here), Singapore appears to keep the virus under control.
As of 12pm today (23 December 2020), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 21 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
All of them are imported cases. Amongst them, 8 are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents, and 9 are foreign domestic workers.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 58,482.
Based on yesterday’s figures, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of 1 case in the past week who is currently unlinked.
128 Active Cases
There are currently 47 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.
81 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
29 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
In the meantime, if you’ve not, you should download the TraceTogether app so that contact tracing can be done easily. If you’re worried about your privacy, watch this video to the end:
