On 3 Oct 2020, Singaporeans cheered when 6 new Covid-19 cases were reported. The cheer died down fast when the next day, 4 Oct 2020 (Sunday), reported double the number of new cases, 12.
Well, on Monday, 5 Oct 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) preliminarily reported 7 new Covid-19 cases.
There is 1 case in the community, a Singaporean
There is also 1 imported case who has been placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore.
There are 5 cases in the dormitories.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 57,819.
Breakdown On 4 Oct Cases
On 4 Oct 2020, 12 new Covid-19 cases were reported.
Cases In The Community
There were 2 cases reported in the community, a work pass holder and a work permit holder, both of whom are unlinked.
One of them was detected by MOH’s enhanced community testing which requires all individuals aged 13 and above to undergo the Covid-19 swab test when seeing a doctor for Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI).
The other was detected via the compulsory bi-weekly testing of workers in the marine, offshore and construction sectors.
Imported Cases
6 imported cases were reported yesterday, all of whom were placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN).
There are two Singapore permanent residents who returned to Singapore from India on 22 and 23 Sep 2020.
There are another three work pass/work permit holders who arrived from the Netherlands and the Philippines on 22 Sep and Indonesia on 1 Oct.
The remaining case is a dependant’s pass holder who came from Japan on 22 Sep 2020.
Dormitory Cases
There were 4 dormitory cases reported, all detected through surveillance testing.

Phase 3 Roadmap To Be Unveiled
According to DPM Heng’s ministerial statement, the roadmap (read: timeline and the revisions) will be announced by the multi-ministerial task force in the coming weeks.
Yes, we’re really entering phase 3.
Some revisions which have been hinted at so far includes changes to the 5-person rule, as well as the DORSCON level remaining unchanged.
There are also no ang baos to be given out unless you’re the parent of a newborn.
