120 COVID-19 Cases Today (31 Jul); 117 Are Community Cases With 42 of Them Unlinked

If you’d have realised, what’s been constant in the daily report is the number of unlinked cases.

As of 12pm today (31 Jul), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 120 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

117 of them are community cases.

Of the 117 locally-transmitted cases, 42 are currently unlinked. 1 case belongs to the KTV cluster, while 26 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 64,981.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 961 cases in the week before to 878 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 83 cases in the week before to 257 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 88.7 and 36.7 respectively.

10 New Clusters from 30 July’s Cases

Remember the days where we moaned about having 10 community cases a day? It was a simpler time, where Phase 2 (Heightened Annoyance) didn’t exist.

Nowadays, we’re identifying 10 new clusters daily, as we’ve seen in the last few days.

Of the 10 reported yesterday (30 July), one was linked to Zuellig Pharma, a healthcare services provider. It has a total of six cases.

The other nine clusters were all linked to individual cases, with infections ranging from three to six.

In total, we now have 63 active clusters in the country.

Eight cases were added to an existing cluster at Samy’s Curry Restaurant, bringing its total tally to 49.

The Marina Bay Sands cluster also has 54 cases now, after two more infections were added to it yesterday.

571 Cases in Hospitals; 7,429,918 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

571 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 26 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 7 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). 2 amongst these 33 cases are fully vaccinated. Of these, 1 requires oxygen supplementation while 1 requires ICU care as they have underlying medical conditions. 23 seniors above 60 years, of whom 22 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.

In total, there are currently 63 active clusters, ranging between 3 and 999 infections.

As of 29 July 2021, we have administered a total of 7,429,918 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme. The total number of doses administered was 7,429,918, covering 4,290,278 individuals. 3,261,603 individuals have completed the full vaccination regimen, consisting of 121,963 recovered persons who received at least one dose and 3,139,640 who received their second dose.
