You see lah, you see lah.
How many times we tell y’all already.
For some reason, there are still people who are uninformed about the MRT shutdown yesterday despite it being all over the news and Internet. Heck, there was even a notice posted on the notice board below my flat.
Granted, if you’re an elderly, maybe you really didn’t know about the MRT shutdown because no one told you about it.
If you own a smartphone, well, do keep up with the news, eh?
Either way, for those of you who had to travel yesterday (like me, sigh), be it for work or whatever reasons, you must’ve experienced the jam first-hand.
Travelling from Outram to Redhill took me 30 minutes– and that was during late morning at around 11 am!
Can you imagine how bad the evening crowd would be?
In fact, stop imagining and take a look at the traffic conditions at the Jurong region yesterday night.
(Rainy weather + Dinner Crowd) X MRT shutdown = You guessed it.
Total traffic jam.
As we can observe from the photos, a good amount of double-decker buses were stuck in the traffic. Some riders were complaining about the traffic, claiming that it took them 45 minutes just to travel from Clementi to Jurong East.
Some other riders have also claimed that it took them 1.5hrs just to travel from CCK to Jurong East!
…I think it might be faster if I walk.
And I’m not the only one who thinks this way.
A good number of passengers have requested for the bus captain to allow them to alight the bus due to the ridiculous travelling time. However, the bus captain is unable to comply due to – you guessed it – company regulations.
It was only when the bus got close to Jcube (that isn’t very far) that some passengers started to make a ruckus. The bus captain had no choice but to allow the passengers to alight at the bus stop opposite Jcube.
I really can’t imagine the crowd this coming Sunday. Sigh.
That being said, please be nice to the bus captains, yeah? We can’t possibly blame them for everything that’s happened.
