If you’re a frequent visitor of Lower Seletar Reservoir, be it fishing, water or frisky activities, you might want to heed this.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the place you crave for so much…

Might have attracted more than just your usual human beings.

Crocodile Alert!

Somewhere in Singapore, a red flag has been planted. A crocodile has swum into the vicinity, marking its territory and turning all unworthy challengers away.

“Go away or I shall bite your ass,” it seems to taunt everyone. But of course that’s just a figment of my imagination because technically crocodiles can’t speak human. Though if you’re wondering about this place in question…

It’s none other than the Lower Seletar Reservoir.

According to Channel NewsAsia, all water and fishing activities at Lower Seletar Reservoir have been postponed till further notice, due to the emergence of a crocodile in the area. It was apparently spotted on Thursday (14 Feb).

Maybe it’s just looking for a date, like everyone else HAHAHAHA (Editor’s note: HAHAHAHAHA very ‘funny’)

PUB has also responded, stating that a PUB contractor had seen the reptile in the morning.

“For public safety, all water activities and fishing activities at Lower Seletar Reservoir have been suspended until further notice,” said PUB in a Facebook post.

“The public is advised to be alert and avoid going near the reservoir water edge.”

It also cautioned visitors to stay calm and retreat slowly if a crocodile appears.

“They should not approach, provoke, or feed the animal,” it said, adding that anyone who encounters the crocodile should call PUB at 9632 3261.

They’ve also sealed the area and put up warning signs:

Netizens have their say

On this segment of ‘Netizens speak’, we have a couple of varying assertions about the new resident of LSR. And unsurprisingly, they’re pretty dope.

Some, for example, reiterated the importance of staying safe.

While others questioned the validity of ‘capturing’ it.

Some also wondered whether it’s a case of mistaken identity, or just fake news.

But overall, most simply chose to satisfy their funny bones.

Though it’s admittedly pretty funny.

Translation:

“Singapore’s a blissful place, which animals also like to reside in. They’re actually very peaceful, and there’s no need to be scared.”

So what to do?

Crocodiles, lest you’re unaware, are pretty dangerous. They are, after all, strong predators in the food chain, and so in no circumstance ever are you supposed to approach them and ask for a ride or something.

Unless you’re a cat.

And with that in mind, remember: retreat slowly should you encounter a crocodile, though if you’re like me…

You’ll probably want to give the reservoir a wide berth for now.
