Dee Kosh Listed Down the ‘Top 10 Idiots of 2018’ & Goody Feed is Briefly Mentioned

If you’re unfamiliar with Dee Kosh, chances are you’re still watching analogue TV and wonder why your TV screen has just gone black yesterday.

Either that, or you’ve sworn off the Internet for the last few years and decided that the only thing that’s worth the Internet is the Goody Feed app (this one, we agree).

For the uninitiated, here’s a one-sentence description of Dee Kosh: He’s a popular YouTuber.

Every year, he would list down the ‘ten idiots’ of Singapore in an entertaining manner. For example, in 2017, here are the ten idiots he’s listed down:

  1. SMRT
  2. ABTM4 audition guy who claimed he was discriminated
  3. Faves Asia
  4. Kiss 92’s Maddy, Jason and Arnold
  5. Couple who bullied elderly in Toa Payoh Hawker Centre
  6. Lady who went apeshit after losing her bracelet
  7. Bike-sharing abusers
  8. Drunk Guy in MRT
  9. Ridhwan Azman
  10. Kid who flipped the bird during NDP

For 2018, it’s no exception.

Well, exactly there is a small exception: there are so many “idiots” in 2018, he had to do a separate video just to include more “idiots” that didn’t make it to the list (and yes, your favourite cyclist has to be there).

With 2018 being the year of idiots (okay, this one we coin one), who do you think make it to the top of the list?

Here’s Dee Kosh’s list, starting from the 10th.

10. Get Juiced National Day Video

On 6 August 2018, Get Juiced, a club in Clarke Quay, thought that it would be cool to feature 53 influencers in a music video to celebrate Singapore’s 53rd birthday. The idea is great, the execution is rather decent and the end result is actually pretty catchy except for one simple fact: people don’t really know who those 53 influencers are.

Here’s the video lest you’ve forgotten about it:

Despite that, I’d reckon that it’s a pretty successful campaign, since more people know about this club now.

9. Chew Eng Han

This is a classic story that you’d most probably tell your grandkids in years to come.

Chew Eng Han, a former City Harvest Church fund manager, was to begin his jail term when he decided to do the unthinkable: he tried to escape Singapore via a motorized sampan a day before he was to be imprisoned.

When he was caught, he told the Police Coast Guard that he was on a fishing trip when he had $5,000 cash with him.

Needlessly to say, two new charges were added to his “portfolio of stupidity”: one for attempting to leave Singapore and another of attempting to defeat justice.

8. Miss Universe Singapore’s Controversial Dress

It doesn’t matter where you’ve been in the last few months; no matter where you go, you’d have seen this image:

The dress was controversial for two reasons: it doesn’t show a Singapore flag and it resembles a Miss Universe Turkey dress in 2015.

Well, at least we get to see the creativity of Singaporeans as the dress was meme-ified:

Cool.

7. Nicole Choo

In case you’re not aware, Nicole Choo is a popular YouTube / influencer, and this year, she published a poetry book called Nineteen.

Earlier this year, Dee Kosh, together with Hirzi, did a “book review” video that mocked the book. Soon after, the video was taken down by YouTube due to a copyright claim.

Just so you know, in recent months (or years), YouTube has been struggling with content moderation, just like Facebook. Other than not allowing monetization for sensitive videos, leading to what YouTubers called the “YouTube Adpocalypse”, they have been very active in removing videos and accounts, and often played it safe.

6. TP’s Bumblebee

Now that the real Bumblebee is in cinema, you might have forgotten about the Bumblebee in Temasek Polytechnic.

Here’s the video to refresh your memory:

Many things happened after the video and it involved a lot of roasted chickens, so let’s just say that the TP Bumblebee who claimed that he can be popular by roasting others is now just having roasted chicken rice at a hawker centre.

5. Joal Ong

Pretty sure not many people know about this influencer, though you might have seen him before. This year, a series of sex photos and videos were leaked and they involved him and a certain famous female influencer.

It turned out that his account was hacked, and the hacker has since been identified and would be charged.

But of course, the damage has been done, and he has since apologized.

4. Hady Mirza

Back in the days before Sing! China or SPOP Sing! shook the entertainment industry, Singaporeans watched Singapore Idol.

While most of the contestants haven’t been able to craft a singing career, Hady Mirza, the winner of the second season of Singapore Idol, went off the rails instead.

After starting a failed chilli tempeh snack business, he disappeared for a while though some people spotted him as a Grab driver. However, in August this year, he was in the spotlight after it was revealed that he had been sent to rehab for offences involving marijuana.

Well, I guess he’s no longer Singaporeans’ idol now.

3. SGInstaBabe Founder

This should still be fresh in some of your mind since it didn’t occur that long ago.

Long story cut short: the founder started a Patreon that allowed tikopeks aspiring photographers or fans to get up and close with the SGInstaBabes girls. If you contribute $5,000 a month, you even get to party with the girls in a yacht!

Soon after, more disturbing allegations regarding the founder’s attitude towards the girls surfaced, and while he denied them all, there were WhatsApp screenshots as evidence.

And as you’d have guessed it, he disappeared from the online world soon after

2. Daryl Aiden Yow

Now, unlike #3, Daryl Aiden did a comeback so successfully, it should be in the Comeback of 2018 instead of Idiot of 2018.

I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with the story: he lied, got caught and apologized. Soon, he came back stronger with more Instagram followers and even a verified tick.

And anyways, here’s when Goody Feed gets a little mention: in the video, Dee Kosh said that someone apparently contacted media outlets like Dee Kosh, Xiaxue, Mothership and Goody Feed to spill the beans about Daryl Aiden.

(Okay, we’re just shiok to hear our company’s name coming out from our idol’s mouth #justsaying and it’s true that we did receive the tip-off about Daryl Aiden but didn’t follow up on it)

Yeah, that’s the “mention” we referred to in our headline. If you think it’s clickbait, you’re wrong: firstly, our company’s name was indeed being mentioned. And secondly, which is more important, is that we didn’t clickbait you: we tapclicked you. After all, most of you are consuming contents on your mobile phone, so you tap instead of click.

But anyways, if you feel cheated, we’re sorry: we don’t mean to tapbait you. Our fat resident cat forces us to. Nevertheless, you’ve learned a lesson, right? That Goody Feed isn’t an idiot in 2018: they’re just a pesky, annoying and sinfully rotten platform.

We still love you even if you hate us to the core.

1. Eden Ang

Seriously, need us say more? You can read all about it here, but for a short recap since this happened in January 2018, here’s what happened to the popular YouTuber: he’s accused of sexually harnessing others, denied it and then girls started to #metoo him, leading him to just abandon his YouTube channel that has well over 178K subscribers and went off radar completely.

(Gosh, I hope we have that many subscribers in our YouTube channel, too.)

And in any case, if you do not want to appear in Dee Kosh’s Idiots of 2019 video, here’s what you should do: use your common sense when you’re doing anything.

Or simply just be a normal person and not do silly things, because even if the authorities aren’t watching, the Internet is.

If you’ve got lots of data to burn, you might want to watch them here:
