It’s been so long since we’ve heard from Dee Kosh that you’ve probably forgotten what he looks like.
What we can’t forget, however, are the sexual allegations levelled against him.
Earlier this year, several netizens on social media claimed that Dee Kosh, whose real name is Darryl Ian Koshy, had asked them for nude pictures and sexual favours in the past.
Dee Kosh initially denied the allegations, but later admitted that there was some “truth” to them.
Since then, at least six police reports have been lodged against the popular YouTuber, and some brands have distanced themselves from him.
Like Donald Trump after the presidential election, Dee Kosh vanished from the public eye after the allegations surfaced, but has now made a return.
Or at least we think so.
Dee Kosh or Dee Kosh Lookalike Doing CWO Trending On Social Media
A man was seen serving a Corrective Work Order (CWO) at a field outside the Jurong East Library.
Normally, this wouldn’t make front-page news, but the man looked a little familiar.
Take a look:
Yes, it looks a little like Dee Kosh, the man whose face we’ve not seen for several months.
Then again, everyone looks the same with a mask on, so we can’t confirm whether this is indeed the YouTuber we all know.
Some netizens pointed out that the man was wearing a pair of Jordans during his CWO, not something many of us would wear while sweeping in a field.
They believed this was a clear indication that the man pictured was in fact Dee Kosh.
So, why was he serving a CWO?
CWOs Doled Out For Littering
While one netizen speculated that the man was serving his CWO because he graduated from NUS, others were rather confused.
CWOs aren’t imposed for offences of a sexual nature, after all.
According to CNA, CWOs were introduced in 1992 to make recalcitrant litterbugs pick up trash at public areas for between three and 12 hours.
It was an amendment to the anti-littering law at the time. It’s a punitive measure that requires the offender to clean up the community instead of paying a fine.
According to the Singapore authorities, the penalty “carries an element of shame” which helps deter littering.
In an Instagram post, Wake Up, Singapore shared an update on the picture, saying it was indeed Dee Kosh serving a CWO for littering offences, but didn’t name any sources.
According to one Redditor, Dee Kosh littered along with fellow YouTuber Ryan Tan in a video on the local YouTube channel Ryan Sylvia, though that was part of a story.
So, what do you think? Is this the real Dee Kosh, or just his Doppelgänger?
