Those of you who have already watched Spider-Man: No Way Home would know that the film has quite a few surprises in store for viewers.
Even without the unexpected appearances of certain actors and actresses in the film, the premise itself was always going to be a big draw: Spider-man living in a world where everybody knows who he is.
Well, it now turns out that the film has thrown up yet another surprise, and it has to do with a completely different Marvel movie.
Doctor Strange’s New Trailer Dropped & It Has Something to Do With Spider-Man: No Way Home
Yes, it appears that the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home have led to the second Doctor Strange movie.
A trailer for the second instalment of the Doctor Strange movie dropped yesterday (23 Dec), leaving fans fizzing with excitement. Believe it or not, Marvel has somehow managed to keep the movie’s production under wraps, which is why there were no leaks or fan theories about Doctor Strange 2.
So, how is it connected to the latest Spider-man movie?
As you probably know by now, Doctor Strange plays a big role in Spider-Man: No Way Home; after Mysterio revealed Spider-man’s identity in the previous film, Peter Parker approaches Doctor Strange for help, hoping to return to anonymity.
Parker eventually persuades Doctor Strange to cast a mysterious spell that will help the world forget Spider-Man’s true identity, but as the latter points out, this just made everything worse.
“When you botched that spell where you wanted everyone to forget that Peter Parker’s Spider-man, you started getting some visitors from every universe,” he said.
At the time, fans speculated that this refers to the Marvel multiverse, which is a collection of all the dimensions and parallel realities that exist in the Marvel world.
Well, we now know that this is true and that it also had ramifications for Doctor’s Strange’s second movie.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Warning: Spider-man spoilers ahead.
See, while Doctor Strange managed to resolve the issue of his ill-advised spell, there are still some unknown consequences that he’ll have to face.
This will be explored in the upcoming Strange movie, which is called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In the trailer, it seems that Doctor Strange has landed in a new, parallel universe, one that is in ruins.
He then approaches Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch for help, and it appears that this Marvel movie will finally tackle the one thing fans have been talking and speculating about for years.
“What do you know about the multiverse?” he asks her.
The trailer then reveals a possible twist: that Doctor Strange may not be the hero we know him to be.
The film was directed by Sam Raimi and will feature Wong (Benedict Wong), Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and Christine Palmer, played by Rachel McAdams. It will also see the debut of America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez.
Am I talking too much? Alright, here’s the trailer:
