Dogs are cute. They brighten up your day when they come bounding up to you with a doggy smile, panting excitedly at seeing you after your long day of work.

Unfortunately, not everyone seems to think the same way.

Disclaimer, don’t hit play if you’re an avid dog lover; this is the least disturbing video on a Facebook post and it’s still plenty disturbing.

On 18 Jul 2020, Facebook user Brenda Tan took to the social media platform to share videos of a man who filmed himself punching a dog that was tied up.

Other than grabbing the dog by its ears and punching it repeatedly in the face, he also grabbed it by the hind legs and swung it around.

You can almost feel the sense of pleasure the videographer got from the dog’s fear in this next photo.

The internet, being its usual resourceful self, managed to CSI the abuser’s Facebook profile within hours.

Netizens were also pinging SPCA Singapore and the Singapore Police Force in the comments section:

They said that they have received information on the suspect’s identity and whereabouts.

In addition, they added that the authorities “were quick to respond” and have visited the unit but couldn’t find the abused dog.

They are appealing for more information on the case, and ask that anyone, who has information, to call them via their 24-hour hotline (6287 5355) or email in to [email protected].

They promise that all information provided will be kept confidential.

Chained Dog Awareness in Singapore also provided an update on the situation and added that the video could’ve been an old one that surfaced on the internet again as the dog has not been seen for more than a year.

They call for harsher penalties to be handed out for animal abuse and confirmed that the dog has not been found yet.

Investigations are currently underway for this case.

Previous Animal Abuse Case

On Jan 2020, it was reported that the Yishun dog abuser who choked and kicked his dog in public view was fined $10,000 for animal abuse.

Back in Feb and Mar 2019, he was caught on camera on two separate incidents and the video files made its way to the authorities, which led to him getting caught.

For inflicting “unnecessary pain” to an animal under the Animals and Birds Act, he could’ve been jailed for up to 18 months, fined a maximum of S$15,000, or both.

Moral of the story: all lives are sacred, and seeing how the latest case sees a man pummeling a dog for all he’s worth, and filming it down, this netizen probably got it right when he said:
