Boon Lay Shopping Centre

Here’s something that westies only know: Boon Lay Shopping Centre isn’t at Boon Lay MRT station.

It’s about a 15-minute bus ride from the MRT station instead.

And within this old shopping centre is a fruit stall selling durians at $1 per durian.

Located within the centre spot of the open-air shopping centre is a huge durian affair.

I mean, durian for $1?

That’s a new low, even with the prices during peak season.

Although if you were to take a closer look at the picture above, some of the $1 durians seemed to have been opened.

But then again, if you’re a savvy durian shopper, you might just be able to identify the good and cheap ones.

Want something a bit better? $2 durians, it is.

During peak season where durian prices fell, people were going crazy for Mao Shan Wang (MSW) selling at $15 per kg.

But here? It’s $15 per MSW durian.

I don’t think I’ll need to emphasise that they’re having a GSS on their durians anymore, right?

This fruit stall doesn’t just specialise in durian. They have a whole lot of other fruits that you might be interested in as well.

GSS-ified, of course.

That means…it’s review time.

Some think that the durian there are pretty good.

Or at least, not bad.

Although there are others who felt that the sellers were as prickly as the fruit they’re selling.
