If you’re one of the fifteen people in Singapore who has not watched Descendants of the Sun, then here’s a Public Service Announcement: Descendants of the Sun is now in Channel U.
And if you’re one of the ten people in Singapore who doesn’t know what Channel U is, here’s yet another Public Service Announcement: it’s (kind of) that thing in your living room that looks like a computer monitor, but your parents have been calling it a “TV”.
I’ll be honest: I was shocked when I turned on the TV last Friday, wanting some white noise as I have my dinner when I saw Big Boss on the screen.

Turned out that the mega-drama that has made even non-Korean fans into die hard Big Boss fans is now showing on Channel U every weekday, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The show is dubbed in Mandarin with English and Chinese subtitles. After watching an episode, here’s my verdict: the voice-over is so good, I won’t mind watching it again.
In fact, if you’ve not watched the Korea version, or have been living in a cave for the last fifteen months (can you believe it has been so long?!), you might just think that the original language is Mandarin #justsaying
And oh, in case you’re wondering if they’re used this song instead of the original Korea version, here’s the bad (or maybe good) news: They’re still using the original version.
The drama, first aired last year February, won numerous awards and made Song Joong-ki a household name. In Singapore and Malaysia, it was streamed in Viu, and was the most-watched show in the app.
Worldwide, it is streamed on Netflix (lest you don’t have a Netflix subscription, I’ve another PSA for you: They do have shows that aren’t English!). No surprise there, isn’t it?

The sequel of Descendants of the Sun, which focuses on the plot between the second leads Master SGT Seo Dae-young and LTA Yoon Myeong-ju, will be released this year.
Do make yourself free tomorrow night (8 May 2017) at 10:00 p.m.: that cool AF scene of Big Boss saying “Then save him!” will be aired tomorrow. To be even more specific, this scene.
Next PSA for NSF and NSmen: Now you know what you should say, in Mandarin, when you reenact that scene in your camp.
Wait, am I the only one doing that?
