A proposal is the time where men and women expand their creative juices to ask their partners to settle down with them for the rest of their life.
Some people proposed with a creative treasure hunting game while others proposed by saying, “Eh, our BTO coming up, let’s go ROM tomorrow.”
Either way, one thing is for sure: none of the proposals can top this man’s drone light show.
Man Used Drone Lights to Create Marriage Proposal at Bukit Timah
On 29 Oct, an extraordinary proposal was posted on the social media platform that we love to hate, TikTok.
This 14 seconds clip, named “Spoil market proposal” depicted a light show at a field behind Methodist Girls’ School (MGS). It is located on Blackmore Drive in the Bukit Timah area, off Bukit Timah Road.

The light show that appeared to be controlled by multiple drones first showed a purple gift box donning a red ribbon being opened. A blue object floated out of the box after it was partially opened.
The purple box and blue object soon turned into various multi-coloured fireflies before forming a new shape. A shape that signifies a life-long commitment – a diamond ring.
It is uncertain if the proposed agreed to be committed with the one that proposed or if the person even gave the proposed an actual diamond ring, for the user who posted this clip is not related to the proposed or the one proposing. They were merely passers-by who happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Spoil Market Proposal
As expected, this made many people sweat for:
- Their partners are going to expect this level of proposal for themselves
- The drone light show cost around S$24,800 (US$18,400)
According to a Drone Light Show Company, a drone light show starts at S$24,800 (US$18,400)for 100 drones. That is the cost of about 7,085 bowls of wanton noodles.
Plus, this cost does not include the cost of a diamond ring that can cost over S$2,000 for a single carat depending on the grade of the diamond and where they purchase it from. Because like exams, diamonds also have grades.
Despite knowing the price, some of the partners in the comment section are still hoping for this level of a proposal from their current and future partners.
Looks like many people are going to request for more paid OTs days now.
