People riding e-bikes don’t really have a good reputation, do they? You’d know them as rude, caustic and dangerous on the roads, right?
For a while, inconsiderate Singaporeans who steals, trash and vandalise ofo bikes dominated the news but this uncle just brought the entire e-bike saga into the limelight again.
Well done.
E-Bike Uncle Beat Red Light On The Road
This incident happened on a road lane near Sims Avenue on 10 June at around 1 pm. Ben Chia Lor – Singapore Road, Singapore’s unofficial road watchdog, uploaded the video on their Facebook page.
In the video provided by the driver, the uncle on the e-bike was seen riding along the junction despite the red light like it’s his grandfather road.
The car had to stop to give way to him.
Naturally pissed, the driver of the car overtook the uncle and stopped at the side of the road, presumedly to scold him.
I know I will if I was the one driving.
Instead of acknowledging his mistake, the uncle just rode past, shouting and gesturing at the driver in the car.
And if that’s not enough, he rode his e-bike in the middle of the lane, slowing down traffic behind him.
All the while, he kept making gestures and scolding the driver. The uncle reached another junction before he stopped and rode off.
And guess what? He broke another red light when riding off like a hero into the sunset.
Almost like he felt he has “won” the encounter.
