What do you do when you miss a turn or get lost on the road? Not much; your GPS will just have to re-route while your passengers will probably throw piss at you over your terrible navigation skills.
What do you do then if you don’t have GPS? Do you turn to paper maps or… ask a stranger on the road?
Stopped on the Expressway
By asking a stranger, do you mean parking on the sideroad and asking someone walking by for help?
No, that’s for losers. A real badass stops in the middle of the expressway to ask for directions.
(Don’t) take a page from this old uncle’s book:
In the Facebook video above, the elderly man appeared to have stopped his van right-smacked in the middle of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE). It seems to be that safety isn’t his priority; figuring out where the hell his destination is much more critical.
It’s quite a feat that he could park his van without trouble on the expressway and even more so that he could get out of the vehicle and boldly walk up to someone else to ask for directions.
Holding a paper in his hand, he looked to be asking for directions on how to get to a specific location, while the passengers in the car of the original video were nice enough to slow down and answer him back by indicating that his location was “Further up” a few times.
Comments
While netizens are scratching their head at this bizarre incident, it’s no doubt that many are concerned about this elderly’s state of mind. Think about it; even an experienced driver knows better than to just stop driving while on the road, especially on an expressway.
Some speculate that the man could have been suffering from some kind of memory loss illness, which makes it all the more so that he shouldn’t be on the road. Hopefully, those who recognise him can reach out to his family through the video.

Charagable Offence
Obviously, the actions shown in the video are dangerous and illegal.
For stopping on the shoulder or verge of an expressway or stopping or remaining at rest on the carriageway of an expressway, drivers will be fined $150 for light vehicles and $200 for heavy vehicles, and a slap of 4 demerit points on their record.
Despite the traffic laws, suddenly pulling the brakes on the highway is extremely dangerous, and it does not only put you at risk but also the others driving behind you.
No one wants to add another method to the dumb ways to die song.
