Everything About the Armed Robbery in Woodlands Checkpoint in 60 Sec

I am sure you would have heard about the armed robbery that took place at Woodlands Checkpoint.

But if you are living under a rock, let me break it down to you in 60 seconds—you will be done by the time your coffee machine dispenses coffee.

What happened

On Jan 5, a man who goes by the name of Chew Guan Mong was arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint, after crashing a car.

But before that, he stole the said car from a woman along Upper Bukit Timah Road, according to  SPF’s FB post.

SPF was alerted to the incident at about 1:32 P.M.

A video of the incident has been shared among various platforms.

In the video, you can see that he was holding a sickle and seemed to walk in a wobbly manner.

I can only imagine how he even got to Woodlands Checkpoint in that state.

According to Channel NewsAsia, he was suspected to be under the influence of drugs.

An axe, a knife, a sickle and controlled drugs were found in his possession.

He was arrested at about 1:45 P.M. for armed robbery, possession of offensive weapons and suspected drug-related offences.

He was then charged with armed robbery when he was in the hospital, the next day.

Investigations are still ongoing.
