Everything About the Jetstar Delay in BKK That Turned Many Passengers into The Hulks

Incredible as it sounds, there’s something even worse than a train delay.

A flight delay, ladies and gentlemen.

Take it from Mr Meme below, who had this expression going on when he heard the Words Which Must Not Be Named.

And if you’ve been through one before, you would know.

It sucks. Big time.

And these Jetstar passengers had it real bad, when their scheduled flight back to Singapore was delayed close to 24 hours.

That’s one day of their lives gone. Geezus.

What happened?

According to Stomper AMadSingaporean, he was supposed to depart Bangkok on flight 3K1514 at 9:20 p.m. local time on Wednesday (29 Nov).

However, they were told that the flight was delayed to 12:00 a.m.

“After reaching the gate, they put up a sign saying ‘Jetstar Bangkok to Singapore, indefinite delay’,” said the Stomper.

Their flight was later postponed again, this time to 2:20 p.m. on Thursday (30 Nov). The passengers were subsequently provided overnight accommodation at a hotel.

Alas, there’s more to come.

When they turned up at the airport the next day, they were informed that their flight has been delayed again. Without any notice whatsoever.

They arrived at Gate G1A to discover that it was allocated to passengers flying with Hong Kong Airlines.

The Stomper then shared a video taken at the departure gate.

Suffice it to say that passengers weren’t too happy about it.

Here’s a brief literal cut-out for you to better understand what the hell’s going on.

“We want to get our luggage and we want to get out of here,” one man told the female airport staff member.

She requested for their patience and to give her one hour to confirm the details of their flight.

At that point in time, one woman shouted:

“No, no, no! We are not going to wait anymore!”

When the woman said she cannot provide any confirmation, a man shouted at her:

“You are not confirmed, why you come here? You spend so much time in the back room do what?”

“We have waited enough already,” another woman chimed in.

I’m sure you guys did.

Jetstar has responded

In reply to Stomp’s media queries, a Jetstar spokesman clarified that the delay was attributed to a “series of technical issues with the aircraft”.

“We apologise to all affected passengers who had been inconvenienced by the delay of 3K1514 from Bangkok to Singapore on 29 November 2017,” she said.

“Our engineers on-ground worked hard to conduct tests on the aircraft but it has taken longer than expected,” she added.

She later confirmed that the flight was rescheduled to leave at 8:00 p.m. local time, and would touch down in Singapore at 11:30 p.m. on 30 November.

“To ensure the well-being of our customers, passengers were provided hotel accommodation and meal vouchers including refreshments at the airport,” she said.

“The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority.

“Once again, we apologise to all customers and thank them for their patience.”

I don’t mean to be rude but…

I don’t think they were that patient.

And had I been on that flight…

I would have found it ludicrously hard to stay patient too.
