Singapore’s MRT has definitely come a long. From 3 lines (red North-South Line, green East-West Line and purple North-East Line), they have expanded and are still expanding.
I mean this is possibly how our future MRT system will look like.
Okay, this is not the official map, but you get the idea.
Here is the official MRT map from LTA: this is how it will look like in the not-so-distant future.
Okay back to the present.
Now we have the Downtown Line and the Circle Line, though not all the stations are fully operating.
The Circle Line.
Ever noticed how it is not a full circle even when it’s called the Circle Line?
You see, even Frank Underwood questions this incomplete circle.
Don’t worry, the yellow line will come to a completion in year 2025 as construction for Circle Line Stage 6 (the final stage) will begin by end of 2017.
The Circle Line 6, includes 3 new stations, Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward, closing the gap between HarbourFront and Marina Bay.
I guess you can say the Circle Line has come full circle.
The Circle Line 6 will then span a total of 4km and it will have a total of 33 stations by 2025.
According to The Straits Times, the Keppel station will be located underground with two levels, at south of Keppel Road.
This is how the Keppel station would possibly look like.
To add on, the Kim Chuan Depot located between Tai Seng station and Bartley station will expand, which means more buses and train
.
YAY! LESSER WAITING TIME.
Meanwhile we have to just make it through the next…8 years?
By then, maybe Vulcans have made first contact with us and we’ve people living in Mars #justsaying #daysfeellikeyearsnowadays
