Expect Lots of Rain in the First 2 Weeks of April 2019 But Temperature Could Go Up to 35°C on a Few Days

I‘m sorry peeps; I hate to break it to you.

It’s gonna rain. A lot. For the next two weeks.

“Eheh, you’re kidding right?” you said. “You do know that April Fools’ is over? Like…hours ago?”

How I wish, dear reader, how I wish. Alas, however…

It’s true.

Prepare your umbrellas, people

And hoodies.

For the next fortnight isn’t going to be pretty.

Like sunny pretty.

According to the friendly folks from weather.gov.sg, the weather outlook’s relatively rainy for the next 14 days, with more showers to be expected over Singapore and the surrounding region.

Also, despite April being the second warmest month of the year, high lightning activity, too, is expected to materialise.

If every lightning storm was this picturesque I don’t think I would mind lightning showers that much. Image: Giphy

Comparatively, there will be more rainy days in the first fortnight of April 2019 than the last of March 2019, with short-duration thundery showers expected in the afternoon on six to eight days (and some days entailing all-day long rain).

Additionally, on two or three days in the fortnight, the “eastward passage of Sumatra squalls from Sumatra or the Strait of Malacca” could bring forth widespread thundery showers, coupled with gusty winds over Singapore n the morning.

Rainfall-wise, the first fortnight of April 2019 is expected to be near-normal.

So wait, is it gonna be cold?

Because hey, it’s gonna rain. So it should be cold… right? Well, if you’re hoping for that silver lining in the cloud… I’m sorry to burst your bubble;

It’s not gonna happen.

Despite the weather god embalming us all with much of his regurgitated water, warm conditions are still expected to persist. In fact, the daily maximum temperature could soar to as high as over 35°C on a few days.

As for the daily temperature, it’s forecast to range between 25°C and 34°C on most days.

Hot and wet. Just great.

And so… now what?

Well, I guess for starters, don’t forget to bring that umbrella with you when going out.

And at the same time, avoid excessively thick clothing.

Oh, and avoid all the heaty stuff.

Because if there’s any more likely period for you to fall sick…

This is it.

Good luck, fellow Singaporeans, and may the odds be ever in your favour.
