We’ve all experienced unreasonable customers while doing customer service, but smashing plates and challenging people to fights? Now that has crossed the line.
The two men who threw a plate in the restaurant Fat Po are now under investigation for public nuisance.
Here’s what happened.

Didn’t Queue, Threw Plate, Shouted and Pushed Staff
According to an eyewitness’ post on Facebook, two men ignored a queue of customers at the Fat Po restaurant in Punggol Container Park. They sat down at a table without being attended to by the staff.
One of the men then started smoking, and was quickly told that this is not allowed. The man argued for a bit with the manager before being convinced to walk outside to smoke.
The man then returned to the restaurant with satay that was apparently bought elsewhere. When staff told him he can’t consume food bought elsewhere on the premises, he got angry and threw a plate on the floor.
He also allegedly shouted and pushed the staff at Fat Po, till another customer stood up for the staff. When the pair threatened to fight him, the customer called the police.
Police Received Call for Assistance
The police has stated that they got a call for assistance on 12 March at around 8:25pm, where two men were harassing service staff at a Punggol eatery.
The officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to find the two men via information from the restaurant and from closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage.
The two men are now investigated for public nuisance. If found guilty, they can be jailed up to three months, and or fined up to $2,000.

Fat Po Responds
Fat Po has since posted on Facebook to respond to this incident.

They said that people can break their plates but “not our spirits”, and thanked customers for standing up for them.
“Our staff are trying their best to provide you with a safe, comfortable and memorable dining experience. They do not deserve to be served with physical and mental abuse.”
