A foreign domestic worker (FDW) in Singapore allegedly assaulted an elderly woman under her care by pressing her head down and forcing milk down her mouth.

What would you do if you opened up the video feed for a CCTV installed in your elderly mother’s room to check on her, just to see your FDW forcing milk down her mouth?
Well, a family in Singapore seems to have dealt with that recently.
On Monday (23 September), Hougang resident Ms Wang was having dinner with her family in the living room. Ms Wang decided to check on her elderly mother, a woman in her 70s who had once suffered a stroke and was now bedridden.
Ms Wang opened up the video feed for a CCTV installed in her elderly mother’s room and reportedly saw her 26-year-old FDW pressing down on the elderly’s head and forcing milk down her mouth.
For context, the FDW was tasked with taking care of Ms Wang’s bedridden mother — she was supposed to feed milk to Ms Wang’s mother, but of course, not in the manner she was observed to be doing so.
Upon seeing the CCTV footage, Ms Wang and her family confronted the 26-year-old FDW, to which the FDW responded that she had done so because Ms Wang’s mother had refused to drink the milk. Ms Wang and her family gave a warning to the FDW and headed back to the living room to resume their dinner.
However, according to Shin Min Daily News, that wasn’t the end of it. The FDW was later seen on the CCTV video feed to be shaking Ms Wang’s mother and pushing her head onto the bed.
Ms Wang’s family then rushed into the room again and warned the 26-year-old to stay away from Ms Wang’s mother, before calling the police.
While awaiting the police’s arrival, the FDW allegedly assaulted Ms Wang’s mother once again. In other words, on a single night, the FDW allegedly assaulted the elderly woman three times.
Ms Wang added that when the police arrived, the FDW even smiled. The FDW was eventually arrested and investigations are currently ongoing.
FDW was All Along Well-Behaved and Diligent
According to Ms Wang, she and her family did not expect such an incident to occur, given that the 26-year-old FDW had all along been well-behaved and diligent with housework.
The FDW, who hails from Indonesia, was primarily responsible for taking care of Ms Wang’s elderly mother and cleaning tasks like sweeping and mopping. Apparently, the 26-year-old never had any conflict with Ms Wang and her family, and had never said that caring for Ms Wang’s elderly mother was too exhausting.
