If you stay in the east and one of your favourite supper spots is Bedok 85 Fengshan Market, you have to know this:
“Bedok 85 Fengshan Market To Close For Renovations This Feb”
According to the East Coast-Fengshan Town Council, 85 Fengshan Market/Food Centre will be closed from 10 Feb 2020 for some much-needed R&R.
And by R&R, they don’t mean rest and relaxation.
They meant repairs and redecoration works.
The renovation works will complete about two months later on 17 Apr 2020.
So if you’re afraid of good bak chor mee (BCM) or sambal stingray withdrawal symptoms, you might want to head down soon.
What Can You Expect From The New Fengshan Market?
The town council say they’ll “revitalise” the Bedok 85 Fengshan Market/Food Centre. Residents and patrons, they assure, will be in for a more pleasant dining experience.
It wasn’t mentioned, however, whether it’ll be a total revamp or just some slight improvements.
But we hope this means the public toilets will be built with the new guidelines in mind. Then, you can enjoy their facilities for a short while before Singaporeans screw it up again.
And more seats because it can be hard to find seats when you’re there.
Will There Be A Temporary Market?
Previously, when Bedok 85 Fengshan Market/Food Centre was closed for a renovation, a temporary market was set up just beside it.
However, that was a major revamp which took over a year to complete.
Given how this is only 2 months, the chances of that happening is…unlikely. #ButOneCanAlwaysHopeLah
Although a person did recommend two coffeeshops near the place for some alternative eating places.
Whichever it is, you have approximately 15 days before the food centre closes down.
So make your way there now before you temporarily say goodbye to the food centre.
Then Where Else Can You Eat?
Like Easties always say, the east is full of good food.
