Firefly has extended its flight cancellations between Singapore’s Seletar Airport and Malaysia’s Subang Airport to cover 15 and 16 October, as haze continues to affect the route.
The extension, announced on 14 October, adds another two days to the disruption. The airline had already cancelled its scheduled services between the two airports from 10 to 14 October.
Firefly said the cancellations were a precaution to protect passengers and crew amid persistent weather and haze conditions affecting Seletar Airport.
Replacement Flights Or A Full Refund
Firefly said it is contacting affected passengers and moving them onto available Malaysia Airlines services between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, subject to seat availability.
Passengers who choose not to take the replacement flights are eligible for a full refund.
The airline said refunds will be returned through the original payment method within 30 working days.
Keep Contact Details Updated
Firefly said it is monitoring conditions and will communicate further flight schedule updates directly to affected customers.
Passengers should ensure their contact details are current through “Manage My Booking” on Firefly’s website so they can receive email and SMS notifications.
Those who need assistance can also contact Firefly Customer Care or use the website’s Live Chat support.
Extension Comes As Haze Worsens
The disruption comes amid worsening air quality in Singapore.
At 9pm on 14 October, Singapore’s 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index readings ranged from 127 to 203, according to National Environment Agency figures reported by Bernama. The upper reading was in the “very unhealthy” range.
