Finally, after a few weeks of bad news regarding Running Man, there’s a good news. Not a great news, but good, nevertheless.
During yesterday’s (17 January 2017) filming, Gary allegedly made a surprise appearance, shocking even the members as they were not informed about it.
The episode, set to be aired on 29 January 2017 (which means the subtitled version will be available on 30 January 2017), is still being kept a secret.

However, Running Man producer Lee Hwan Jin has this to say: “It is true that Gary will be making a special appearance. Since this is a confidential project and he is a surprise guest, please watch the broadcast to see what we have prepared…I can tell you that there is a huge twist and secret.”
Well, for a start, it’s the first episode in the Rooster Year, so we won’t need to guess much on the theme: it’ll all be about the Lunar New Year, right? No?
The final episode of Running Man will be aired on 26 February 2017.
Anyways, the ratings of Running Man has been increasing since the controversy. Ever since episode 331, which was broadcasted on 25 December 2016, the ratings for AGB Ratings Nationwide has gone sharply up from 5.3% to 8%.
Still a far cry from its heydays of over 20%, but hey, still something, right?
Maybe…maybe, there’s a hope that everything is merely just a publicity stunt to increase its viewership? I can only hope.
Now, let’s also hope that Song Joong Ki will be back on the final episode.
