The headline doesn’t make sense, does it?
Firstly, there’s no 29 February 2018. And secondly, nothing is free in Singapore. And thirdly, April’s Fool is still one month again.
But I kid you not. Unless the media release sent in by Deliveroo’s PR company is fake lah.
If you’re one of the unfortunate few who celebrate your birthday every four years because you’re a Leap Year baby (i.e. birthday on 29 February), you’re in luck this year.
Deliveroo, one of the food delivery services in Singapore, has decided to celebrate your birthday.
From now until 28 February, simply email them at [email protected], letting them know that it’s your birthday (I’m presuming you need to at least send in some evidence, like your NRIC or simply a sad face) and tell them about how you have always missed your birthday, and they will send a cake to you.
Well, actually, you’ll get a chance to win the free cake, but come on lah: how many leap year babies do we have in Singapore? And how many of them actually read this article?
But here’s something interesting: in total, there’s about 4 million leap year babies. That’s like just 1 million less of Singapore’s population #poorleapyearbabies
Just so you know, the last leap year was 2016, so the next leap year is 2020.
At least the GST hike won’t be implemented yet on the next leap year #justsaying
Most businesses would celebrate leap year by having promotions on the 29th of February, so it’s a win for you this year.
Now, share with all the leap year babies!
