Adorable ginger cat. Abandonment. Two differing notions, two phrases/terms that don’t usually occur in the same sentence.
And yet, it has happened. In back-to-back form too.
According to a Facebook user, a beautiful ginger cat was found outside CHIJ Katong Primary School last Sunday evening, amidst heavy rain.
It’s also alleged to be sporting a dried up wound on its neck.
Adorable Ginger Cat Found Abandoned Outside Primary School In Heavy Rain
On 14 September 2020, Facebook user Wei Jie Kwan posted an update on his Facebook page, detailing the discovery of an abandoned ginger cat outside CHIJ Katong Primary School and how she was stuck amidst heavy rain with a dried-up wound on its neck.
According to the post, the feline was found in a dark side gate of the school last Sunday evening. Had it not been for a chance meeting, she would have been found the next day morning instead.
Apparently, the cat was far from just being abandoned. She also had a dried-up wound on her neck and was in need of treatment.
There was also a note accompanying the cat, with the content reading as follows:
“My name is Abbey. I am sterilised. Please take good care of me.”
Kwan states that he’s currently working with Cats of Marine Terrace to ensure the safety and welfare of the abandoned pet.
He has also since lodged a police report, as well as a one-service report.
“To the previous owner,” he wrote.
“Your cat deserves a better home and owner.”

A Better Home
In the end, we hope that they will be able to locate the perpetrator’s whereabouts and proceed to do what’s necessary.
It is, after all, a crime to abandon your pet in such vein.
As for the ginger feline, I think she can take solace in the fact that she has countless admirers who appreciate her more than her previous owner did…
And that wherever she goes from hereon, she will probably be treated better than she ever was.
