In almost every YouTube review of Singapore you can find, they are always saying that itโs โreally peacefulโ, and you could honestly take a stroll down the streets at 3am in the morning and feel perfectly safe.
With the additional installation of CCTV cameras everywhere from inside the lifts to along the corridors, the deterring effect it has on crimes at our residential flats has never been stronger.
Or at the very least, it will ensure that justice will never be absent, merely late.
Alas, there will always be evildoers on the prowl.
But this one met his match with a 15-year-old girl.

15YO Girl Fights Back Against Her Molester
On Saturday morning (19 Mar) at around 11am, a 15-year-old was purportedly waiting for the lift at Block 263 on Yishun Street 22 when another teen โextended his wolf clawโ and grabbed her by the collar from the back.
In broad daylight.
Shocked, the girl immediately turned around and resisted him with all her strength while screaming out loud.
Moments into their tussle, the teen boy seemed to realise that he wouldnโt be successful in his malicious attempt, and that they were drawing the attention of the passers-by.
Thus, he promptly gave up, turning on his heels to flee the scene.
A good lesson to take away from this: perpetrators are often looking for easy targets; if you put up a struggle or make a lot of noise, they are more than likely to give up, because theyโre more afraid of getting caught than you.
According to the 42-year-old father of the girl who was interviewed by Shin Min Daily News, he has another 19-year-old daughter at home, and he has taught both of them martial arts to ensure that other boys will never take liberties with them.
I think after this incident, the father has never been gladder about his decision to raise his daughters that way, and he deserves a โBest Father Everโ sash and mug.
Police Are Currently Investigating the Case
According to the residents living nearby, they spotted at least four police cars and approximate six to seven police officers around the aforementioned Yishun block.
A female officer in plain clothes was seen walking with a young girl, and they were conversing at the ground floor lift lobby for about five minutes.
Besides that, Shin Min Daily News divulged another titbit on the case on Facebook, stating that the alleged molester was a 17-year-old teenage boy.

The 15-year-old girl deserves all the praise for defending herself in such a frightening situation, and we hope that that she gets all the help she needs, in the event that the incident has left any trauma on her.
