Recently, a Singaporean man got married to his sweetheart in Australia and this may seem like an everyday occurrence but trust me, it is not.
This is because instead of marrying his sweetheart at a cafe or in a hotel, he married her in a Gong Cha outlet.
Yes, that Gong Cha.
Additionally, their guests were stuffed with cups of bubble tea and pieces of bread throughout the ceremony.
Something most Singaporeans would approve.
S’porean Hosts Wedding Reception in a Gong Cha Outlet With Bread & Bubble Tea
On 8 Dec, Leonard Pang and Gina tied the knot at a Gong Cha outlet in Brisbane, Australia. They registered their marriage in the same location as well.
Around ten people, including the photographer, who is their friend, was invited. The ceremony included the recital of their vows, signing of the witnesses and celebratory fest with various bread and cups of bubble tea which took about two hours.
Instead of seeking professional photography services, Leonard decided to ask his friends to take photos for him.
Overall, this was a stress-free wedding for them.
Why Was It Held in a Gong Cha Outlet?
According to MS News, the unique location was chosen due to their dating habits. This particular location holds a special place in their hearts because it is one of their regular dating spots.
Additional, they wanted a small, low-key wedding since Leonard’s family could not visit them thanks to the COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Thus, they decided to go ahead with the wedding after Gong Cha approved their ceremony.
That day started at 9am for the couple as they went to get their hair done at a stylist. Thereafter, they went to collect their bread and cake from the local bakery, Breadtop, before making their way to a friend’s place for makeup.
Lastly, they all travelled to the Gong Cha outlet together to begin the joyous occasion.
Leonard hopes to hold another reception when he comes back to Singapore. Maybe in a Gong Cha outlet here too.
Other Unusual Wedding Ceremony
In another unusual wedding ceremony, guests in India decided to continue chomping down their food despite a massive fire raging behind them.
On 29 Nov, two men went to a wedding normally just like any other guest. As the wedding was happening, a firecracker burst and caused a huge fire. Most guests stood up in fear that the fire would spread but not these two men.
They continue consuming their food despite acknowledging the large fire behind them. In the video posted on Facebook, the men could be seen turning around to notice the fire and turning back to their food.
If it was a fight between “fire vs food”, food won for they chose to keep calm and eat their fill.
The fire took two hours to be put out and I’m sure in that two hours the men had their fair share of delicious curry.
