Grab Driver Praised By Thai Mom For Saving 2-Year-Old Son’s Life

There are days when we see news such as man rapes cousin while on bail for raping ex-girlfriend and man jailed for stabbing ex-girlfriend at her birthday party.

We would wonder: What happened to humanity? Is it going to be the end of the world already?

But then, here comes a piece of heroic news that restored our faith in humanity.

Son Suffers Spasm But Was Stuck In Traffic Jam

A Facebook user Ployly M Kaewya from Bangkok posted a video online saying that she was stuck in a traffic jam on a flyover with her husband and son when her son, Pla Wan, suddenly suffered a spasm.

In a desperate attempt to send her child to the hospital, which was made impossible due to traffic congestion, she asked for help from a Grab rider who stopped beside her.

Lest you’re not aware, over in other countries, Grab has bikes as well.

Anyways, moving on.

“Please help us. The boy is seriously ill,” she said to the Grab rider.

If anything, this incident proves that not all heroes wear capes. Some don Grab driver outfits.

Without hesitation, the Grab driver sped to the hospital with the boy.

Help From Another Motorcyclist

Just when you thought that crisis was over, it wasn’t.

The nearest hospital was on the other side of the road, and if you have been to Bangkok, you will realize that some of their roads do not have u-turns, unlike in Singapore.

The Grab rider than asked for help from another motorcyclist who carried the boy to the hospital across a pedestrian bridge.

Heart Breaking Clip

Ployly was initially undecided on whether she should post the clip as it broke her heart whenever she recalled the incident.

However, she felt that the video will be useful in reminding people to stay calm in such emergencies.

She had also thanked the Grab rider and motorcyclist in her post on Monday, who was later identified as Watchara “Pop” Kasien and Tawan “Win” Kraipetch respectively.

Pla Wan had also posted a message saying “Pla Wan is safe now. I will return home from the hospital today” through his mum’s Facebook.

He had also added, “Thank you my heroes”.

God bless these kind souls, and may Pla Wan grow up healthily and safely.
