Imagine using the hand sanitiser provided in a lift and realising that it’s not a virus-killing disinfectant…

But sushi-associated green tea.

Yeah, that feeling of betrayal will probably kill your day instantaneously.

And yet, that’s precisely what had happened in a lift located in a multi-storey car park at Woodlands, on 20 May 2020:

Green tea liquid, masquerading as pandemic-eliminating disinfectant.

Though if there’s any consolation…

Our hero didn’t seem to have applied the solution on his hands.

Someone Switched The Hand Sanitiser in Woodlands Lift to Green Tea

According to Zaobaoa man with the surname Luo had been on the way to work last Wednesday (20 May), and had used the lift located in the multi-storey car park at 895D, Woodlands.

When he entered the lift, he noticed that a bottle of green tea was strewn on the floor, and dark yellow liquid was spilled all over in what appeared to be a total mess.

Intrigued, he took a photo and uploaded it to social media, where Netizens proceeded to dissect it in minute detail.

Unsurprisingly, some suspected that it was actually urine.

But Mr Luo disagreed. He pointed out the green tea bottle left on the floor, and said that there was no urine smell in the elevator. Despite appearances, the liquid left in the disinfectant bottle was likely to be green tea.

“The lift is not big,” he said. “If it is urine, there should be a smell of urine. At that time, I didn’t smell it at all, so I believe it was filled with green tea beverage.”

If you’ve been to a stairway that’s filled with pee, you’d know what he’s talking about.

He conceded, however, that it was difficult to find the culprit.

According to Mr Luo, there was no closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the lift, and few people used the parking lot.
