With so many Hong Kong police films, I won’t blame you if you think that all policemen in Hong Kong behave just like Andy Lau and Tony Leung.
But of course, in reality, they’re just like any police force in the world, fighting for justice and also deterring crimes.
I guess the way they deter crime, or in this case, to get people to buckle up, has just been taken to a whole new level.
Jumping on the bandwagon of creating the insanely famous Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen parodies, they’ve made a video aptly titled “Belt Buckle Seat Belt”.
It’s just another message to get people to buckle up, but boy did it manage to reach to tons of people: currently, 21 hours after the video is up, there has been over 1 million views. Do note that the population in Hong Kong is only about 7 million people, so you can imagine how many people in Hong Kong have watched it.
Here’s the video. It needs no context.
Guess I’m going to download this song and whenever I have a passenger, I’ll play this song if he or she doesn’t buckle up.
Watch this for a complete summary of what REALLY happened to Qoo10, and why it's like a K-drama:
