Being uniquely Singaporeans, we can never say no to Durian. Heck, you can even see people flocking to Geylang during the Durian season for the King of Fruits and leave feeling extremely satisfied.
So when we got news that there were Durian pizzas in Singapore, our first reactions were – HUH, SIMI?
But yes, it’s true.
The pizzas originate from Tino’s Pizza Cafe, an eatery tucked at The Centrepoint which serves Italian cuisine and savoury pizzas – prepared using both Neapolitan (thick) and Roman (thin) style crust which best represents the traditional and creative preparation methods. The cafe also has two other outlets at Tiong Bahru Plaza and Sentosa.Â
But their signature dish that everyone can’t seem to get enough of would be their famous Mao Shan Wang and D24 pizzas. Now you might ask – durian and cheese? Wouldn’t that combination be weird?
Well, that’s when you are wrong. In fact, these two ingredients surprisingly complemented one another to give you one of the most addictive pizzas, ever. The durians are also available in flavours like D24 and Mao Shan Shang – the latter being the more expensive option.Â
And if you are looking for something even more substantial and wackier than Durian Pizzas, you can also opt fro the Peanut Butter Fries. Personally, since I’m not a fan of Peanut Butter, I’m not too sure how this can work but it has apparently garnered quite a number of positive reviews online!
Else, you can also take the chance to grab a cup of joe and chill with some friends as well! The coffee can also help you balance out the sweetness from the pizza.Â
