Recently, a TikTok video has been circulating on social media showing a person being stopped by two nurses outside Sengkang General Hospital.
Naturally, many netizens were concerned and curious about the situation.
The hospital has since responded.

Sengkang General Hospital
On 1 March, Sengkang General Hospital posted its response to the viral video on its Facebook page.
The hospital confirmed that it was aware of the viral video.
It said, “The health and safety of our patients and staff are our top priority and we wish to assure the public that both patient and staff are safe.”
It added, “The nurse had evaluated the situation and for the safety of the patient, decided to engage and persuade her to return to the ward. Our security officers were activated and nearby, ready to provide assistance as necessary.”
The hospital reassured the public that the patient was safely brought back to the ward.
The Video
On 27 February, TikTok user @nubtangwenzin uploaded a video depicting two nurses stopping a patient at a traffic light outside Sengkang General Hospital.

In the video, one nurse wrapped her arms around the patient to stop her from moving.

The other nurse stood in front of the pair to prevent the patient from leaving.
The video then transitions to showing a few security guards talking to the patient.
The TikTok video has since gone viral, garnering over 331.9k views at the time of writing.
Confusion over the Video
According to the TikTok user, a female patient escaped from the hospital and the two nurses ran after her.
After that, security guards came to take the patient back to the hospital.

However, it appeared that some netizens were confused by the video.
The patient wore a white top, similar to one worn by nurses in a hospital.
A netizen wrote, “That’s the nurse working there. Didn’t want to do OT that day. Staff stopped her from leaving.”
However, the TikTok user clarified that the woman wearing a white top was not a nurse but a patient trying to escape the hospital.
Other netizens also clarified that the woman was a patient and not a nurse, despite the misleading colour of her clothes.

Some made jokes about the incident, suggesting the patient escaped because she didn’t want to be hospitalised.
