As a foodie living in Singapore, I’m sure you are always spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing what food to eat and Singapore’s reputation as a food paradise is certainly true with a wide variety of foods to you to choose from.
If you are a foodie that always on the hunt for the latest food trends in our sunny little island, here is one food trend that you cannot afford to miss: Coffee in a cone.
Say what?! Yes, coffee in a cone. Although it sounds far-fetched, it exists. Coffee in a cone is the latest food fad that is slowly gaining popularity among coffee and dessert lovers alike.
First originated from South Africa, it is the brainchild of a coffee consultant who was experimenting with new ways to serve coffee.
Coffee in a cone was initially created as a solution to allow coffee lovers to have their favourite desserts and coffee together and it has already become a hit worldwide, with more than 1 million Instagram posts of this food trend globally.
The interesting thing about this food trend is it brings us far away from the original way we drink our coffee. When you have a cup of coffee in front of you, most of us probably savour the experience, taking small sips while chilling with our friends.
For this food trend, you have only 10 minutes to finish your coffee before the chocolate lining melt and your coffee goes down the drain. Literally.
The reason for its widespread popularity, according to its creator Mr Dayne Levinrad, was because of two factors: an awesome marketing strategy and our desire for visually appealing products.
And yes, we still stand by what we said in another article of ours: not only must food today taste good, it must look damn good as well.
We know of a coffee place here in Singapore selling this “coffee-in-a-cone” right now. Do you know of any place else?
