Delivery Driver Posed as Police Officer Raped Undergrad Social Escort at Knifepoint

On 21 Feb 2019, a social escort was instructed by her agent to check into a room at Harbour Ville Hotel at 8.15pm.

She had a client and was to wait in the room for him. When he arrives, she’ll collect S$450 from him.

Little did she know that her night was about to get worse.

Then 22 years old, the victim was a part-time undergraduate who holds a full-time job outside of her social escort work.

When Ng Yi Yao, a 32-year-old delivery driver turned up, he did not pay the amount as requested.

Instead, he identified himself as a police officer and quickly flashed some sort of identification at her.

He then asked her for her phone and identification, which she gave.

After some time, Ng started a voice recording on his phone, claiming that it was a police operation.

He also told the victim to tell her agent to cancel her next job and to change rooms.

In the new room, he tried pressuring her into performing sexual acts on him but she refused.

At around 10pm, she sent a message to her agent: “Bro I can’t make it tonight have smth on”.

It was code for she is in trouble.

Not that it saved her.

Ng, who was wielding a swiss knife, told the victim to switch off the lights or be hurt.

Afraid, the victim complied.

Then, Ng allegedly raped the victim and made her perform oral sex on him.

Caught

After their activities, the victim took a shower, an activity which Ng took great joy in watching.

He had also struck up a conversation, admitting that he wasn’t a police officer and asked to move in with her.

The victim gave the excuse of needing to submit assignments to escape.

Ng reportedly took photos of her identification card and exchanged numbers with her.

He also insisted on sending her home and gave her S$40.

Shortly after returning home, the victim called a friend and the police.

Ng was arrested the next day at a hostel located in Hongkong Street.

Charges

Currently, Ng is contesting two charges of aggravated rape and aggravated sexual assault by penetration.

A charge of impersonating a police officer has been put on hold.

For the charge of aggravated rape, the offender can be jailed for at least 8 years, up to 20 years, and caned at least 12 times.
