If you’re a frequent Grab or Gojek customer, you’d have probably cancelled on a booking once or twice.

Maybe you got a booking on Grab and Gojek within minutes, and one is cheaper.

Or maybe, you’re late for more than 5 minutes, and rather than letting him charge you that additional amount, you’ll pay for the cancellation fee instead.

So what happened to make this cool dude break down?

Well, apparently, an inconsiderate customer happened.

Customer Cancelled On Him After Asking Him To Buy Stuff

The customer was apparently the first customer he had all morning. And to make it worse, he had to spend Rp200,000 (~S$19.37) to buy several items for said customer.

Just for your reference, these riders typically earn RP3,000 (~$0.29) per kilometre.

So other than losing out on the fare, he’s now stuck with several items that he doesn’t need, and couldn’t get back the money that he had used to pay for them.

The rider reportedly had to support his mother and a younger sibling and was so devastated that he couldn’t stop crying even though the cameraman tried to comfort him.

The Internet Reacts

The video went viral online and a concerned netizen decide to look for the GoJek rider.

He wanted to reimburse the rider the amount of money that he had spent on buying the items for the customer who cancelled on him.

He tweeted for help and it has since gone viral with over 1,400 retweets and 2,100 likes.

It wasn’t known whether he managed to find the rider or not.

But one thing for sure, maybe the next time you cancel on a driver, try to think from their perspective too, yeah?

After all, it might just be a couple of dollars to you but it’s the whole world to others.
