Are you the kind of traveler who loves staying in unique hotels or quirky hostels? Have you always wondered how it would be like to spend the night sleeping comfortably on a plane?

Well, now you can. A Boeing 457 jumbo jet which was retired has since been converted into a hostel that is truly one-of-a-kind. While most airports have their very own airport hotel situated inside the airport itself or just a stone’s throw away from their doorstep, Sweden takes it a step further by not only having an aiport hotel, but one that is made out of an actual aircraft to boot.

Located just 65 feet right outside Sweden’s Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, it’s safe to say that you can view all the incoming and departure flights at the airport from the Jumbo Stay hotel.

This quirky hotel consists of 33 rooms and boasts a luxury suite which comes with the price tag of a cool £320 per night, equipped with your own private en-suite bathroom and a breath-taking view of the runways.

The luxury suite is made out of the pilots’ cockpit, where one can enjoy the view of the airport right outside its windows. Some of the rooms are complete with bunk beds to make full use of the limited space on the aircraft.

Tired out from your flight? Just grab a drink or some refreshments at the hotel bar that has been thoughtfully included for the guests. If not, just head on over to the remodeled communal lounge with the restored cushy armchairs to take a break, relax and perhaps make some new friends. Rest assure that you will have access to all your creature comforts aboard this awesome hotel.

Oscar Dios, the man behind the idea mentioned that he has always wanted to open an airport hotel and when he heard of the retired aeroplane which used to be part of Pan-Am’s fleet, he decided to snap it up.

He is reported to have spent over £1.5million within the span of 6 months to transform the retired aircraft into the hotel we now know as the Jumbo Stay Hotel.

The massive jet which flew many a flight during its heyday is now serving another purpose, providing a good night’s rest for travel-weary guests. Now, if you happen to be in Sweden, you know exactly where to book a night’s stay, just for the experience of sleeping in this amazing hotel.
