Well, then you’re not going to want to miss out on the Istana Open House happening on 23 July 2023.
National Day Istana Open House to be Held on 23 July 2023 With Food Trucks
On 23 July 2023 (it’s a Sunday), the Istana Open House (IOH) will take place.
Yes, the “palace” of Singapore will be opened to members of the public on this day from 8.30am to 6.00pm.
Now, if you’re a Singaporean or Singapore PR, I’ve got great news for you: You can enter for free.
For non Singaporean/PRs, adults and children aged 4-12 years old will need to pay S$2 entry fee. It’s free for children below 4 years old.
Music Performances, Food Trucks & More
According to the Istana website, the IOH is going to be an exciting day.
You can enjoy great performances throughout the entire day, including band performances, dance performances and more.
Not contented with simply watching? There are exciting activity booths happening as well, including Augment Reality and Giant Jenga (exciting).
Hungry? There are drink booths, food trucks and food stalls set up by well-known brands to quench your hunger and satisfy your thirst.
There’s also a merchandise booth available where you can get limited-edition merchandise to commemorate the day.
All proceeds will be given to agencies supported by the President’s Challenge.
Guided Tours Available As Well
Curious to know how our presidents live? You can enter the main Istana building for $2 (Singaporeans and PRs) or $4 (anyone who isn’t a Singaporean/PR).
Do note that only cashless payment via QR code will be accepted for entry fees.
There are guided tours available as well, led by volunteers from the National Heritage Board.
Each tour is limited to 15 people and leaves at 30-minute intervals from 9.30am to 5pm.
Similar to the merchandise booths, all fees and proceeds will be given to agencies supported by the President’s Challenge.
The Istana isn’t just a place of residence, it’s also has beautiful landscapes waiting to be captured.
On 23 July 2023, you can have the opportunity to explore the Swan Pond, Japanese Garden and the inclusive garden.
Guided nature tours are available as well and will be led by volunteers from NParks.
Each group is limited to 15 pax and each group leaves at 1-hour intervals. Similarly, all proceeds will go to benefitting agencies supported by the President’s Challenge.
The nature tour costs $2 for children aged between 4-12, $4 for adult Singaporeans/PRs and $10 for standard visitors (not Singaporeans/PRs).
