After rising to fame and then swiftly plummeting down, Jeff Ng has been cancelling all of his recent performances and putting his Instagram account on private.
BTW, if you’re not caught up on all the drama, here’s a quick summary of the entire saga:
However, he has made his account public today to announce yet another cancelled performance, and to post a thank-you to his supporters.
Cancelled 9 July Performance
Local buskers like Jeff must apply for a venue and time on the National Arts Council website for their performances.
According to the website, Jeff was supposed to perform at Handy Road’s open space (the one in front of The Cathay) on 9 and 16 July, from 7pm to 10pm.
However, a check on the website today shows that Jeff’s performance for 9 July has been cancelled. Instead, another busker, Delvina See, will be performing there from 5pm to 10pm.
As of writing, the performance on 16 July hasn’t been cancelled (yet).
Jeff had also posted an Instagram story to inform his followers about the cancellation, citing the rising number of COVID-19 cases as the reason for not performing. He also expressed his hopes for everyone to stay healthy amidst the new COVID-19 wave, and that he’s looking forward to singing for everyone again.

Additionally, Jeff had posted a new song cover titled “Thank You”.
In his caption, he said that this cover was a way for him to express his thanks for everyone’s support, especially since he hasn’t been performing live lately.
He added that he will humbly accept and cherish every comment, no matter good or bad, and treat everything as a learning experience for him.
Jeff ended off by saying that he won’t give up on his dreams, and will work hard to let everyone see a better version of him.
